Is it safe to share my PAN and bank details?

Your PAN and banking information is securely stored, and we do not share this information with third parties. This information simply helps us to verify your identity and process your monthly payment.

I do not have a bank account in my name. Can I provide someone else’s bank details?

We can only accept applicants with a personal bank account. This information is used to verify your identity and process monthly payments.

How can I check my registration status?

Once you complete the application, you will receive an email confirming your application has been successfully completed. If selected for this position, you will also receive an onboarding email confirming approval. The application review process typically takes between 2-3 weeks but may vary based on subject. You can request the latest status of your application at any time by using your registered email ID to write us at bartlebyexperts@bartleby-inc.com.

Why am I unable to complete the test on the portal?

Users are allowed two attempts to complete the subject test within the portal. We recommend you take the test using the Mozilla Firefox browser as it is most compatible with the portal. If you have difficulty accessing the subject test while in Mozilla Firefox, please email us at bartlebyexperts@barteby-inc.com.

I faced a technical issue while uploading an image during a subject assessment. How can I prevent this from happening?

To successfully upload any image, review the following instructions:

Use Mozilla Firefox for a better experience
File size should be less than 2MB
Acceptable formats include: JGP, JPEG and PNG
Image size should be 600 Pixels X 300 Pixels
Images should not be too dark or too blurry
To upload, click the image icon in the toolbar, choose your file and click ‘Send it to the Server’
Do not refresh or click the back button or close the browser

Are handwritten solutions allowed?

Yes, you may submit handwritten solutions. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure optimal upload:

Use an unruled white sheet of paper.
Use a reputable scanner app to take the picture (e.g. Microsoft Lens and Adobe Scanner).
Ensure there are no third-party logos or watermarks visible.
Handwriting should be neat and easily legible.

How much do I get paid for my answers?

Pay rate is based on the subjects you qualify for and will be disclosed in your contract letter.

Can I apply for a secondary subject?

Yes, you may request to author a secondary subject three months after your start date. Secondary subject approval is dependent on performance and subject to availability.

Can I change my subject after I have become a subject matter expert with bartleby?

If you are interested in changing your subject, please email bartlebyexperts@bartleby-inc.com. You may be required to undergo additional review to qualify for your new subject.

What is the minimum education qualification to become a subject matter expert with bartleby?

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (or a degree equivalent to a bachelor’s degree) in the discipline/subject for which they are applying.

Is this a part-time or a full-time role?

This is a part-time role.

How and when does bartleby pay its experts?

We aim to process all payments via direct deposit on or near the 10th day of each month for correct answers submitted the previous month. Payments will release on weekdays only. Payments are processed through NEFT Bank transfer. We do not process payment through Paytm, Google Pay, or Airtel Money.

Do I have to be an Indian citizen to become an expert?

We are only accepting applicants who can provide:
– Indian PAN
– Indian Bank Account
– Proof of Address issued in India (Driver’s License, Voter ID, or Aadhaar Card)

I signed up to become a subject matter expert, but I am having issues logging into my account.

Please ensure that you are entering the correct email ID and password when logging in. Both email ID and password are case-sensitive.

If you forget your password, please click on the ‘Forgot Password’ option on the login page. You can reset the password using your registered email ID. We will email you steps to reset your password.

I do not have a PAN card. Can I still apply?

Our application requires you to submit PAN details. If you do not have a PAN card, apply for one here in order to complete your application.

Is there a waiting period until I can reapply?

Yes. We require a six-month waiting period before candidates can reapply.
